Data Processing Principles

We process as little personal data as possible. App data is stored exclusively locally on your device and only exported at your initiative (e.g. as PDF/JSON/ZIP or via email to trusted persons, counseling centers or legal representatives). The website is provided via GitHub Pages (GitHub, Inc.).

What data is processed?

Locally stored data in the app

• Bullying diary & incident documentation: Date, time, free-text descriptions, categories (e.g. school, work, online), optionally names/roles of persons involved (freely entered), mood tracking
• Media: Photos, screenshots and optional audio/video recordings (only when you actively use these functions)
• GPS coordinates (optional): Only if you enable location services to document where an incident occurred
• App settings: Language, topics, display preferences, local reminder functions (if available)

No automatic data transmission

The app does not transmit your personal bullying diary contents to external servers, unless:

• You consciously export data (e.g. via email, messenger or file export)
• You use Google Play Billing or Apple In-App Purchases for premium features (in which case only the data necessary for the purchase is sent to the respective store)

• Export of documentation as PDF/JSON/ZIP for sharing with trusted persons, counseling centers or legal representatives
• Local data storage without mandatory cloud usage

No legal, therapeutic or medical advice: The app is a self-documentation and support tool only. It does not replace psychological counseling, therapy, or legal or school/employment advice. We do not guarantee court or administrative admissibility.

3. Usage Rights & Restrictions

• Permitted: Private use and use by trusted persons (e.g. parents, teachers, counselors) to support documentation and advice
• Prohibited: Misuse for defamation, harassment or intentional false accusations, reverse engineering, decompilation, commercial redistribution

4. Premium Features (In-App Purchases)

Some functions (e.g. extended export options, additional categories or comfort features) may require a one-time purchase via Google Play (Android) or Apple App Store (iOS):

• Payment processing: Handled by Google Play or Apple
• No subscriptions: All purchases are one-time
• No refunds: Not revocable after activation (exception: statutory withdrawal rights before activation)

Is my data stored in the cloud?

No. All bullying diary contents remain locally on your device. Cloud storage only occurs if you export data yourself and store it with a cloud or email provider.

Is the app available for iOS/iPhone?

Yes. The app is available for both Android (Google Play) and iOS (Apple App Store). Search for "BullyShieldBuddy" in the respective store.

How do in-app purchases work on iOS?

On iOS, all purchases are processed through Apple's In-App Purchase system. Your payment information is processed by Apple, not by us. We only receive a purchase confirmation, but none of your payment data.

Can I transfer my purchases between Android and iOS?

No, purchases are platform-specific. A purchase made in Google Play Store does not apply to iOS and vice versa. This is a limitation of the app store systems.

How do I request a refund from Apple?
